Questions, answered straight
Last reviewed: September 2026
Everything below describes Linwick as it works today. If something you need is not here, email adrians@stepedigital.com and you’ll get a real answer rather than a brochure.
Can I log in and see my enquiries?
No, and that is deliberate. There is no customer login and no dashboard. Every completed enquiry is emailed to you in full, within seconds of the conversation finishing — the answers, the whole conversation, and a reference. That email is your copy and your record.
The reason is not that a dashboard is hard. It is that Linwick exists so enquiries land in the inbox you already watch; a second place to check would be the problem, not the product. And because enquiries are deleted 30 days after they are delivered to you, and never kept beyond 90 days, a portal would show you less of your own history than your mail client already does — while adding an account, a password and one more thing that can be breached.
So: keep the emails. They are the archive, and they are yours.
Then what can I actually get, and how fast?
Anything about your setup, by email, done by a person. Nothing is withheld and nothing costs extra — it is part of the £79.
- The questions the assistant asks, including adding your own and dropping ones you do not need
- The address enquiries are delivered to
- The services and areas shown on your enquiry page
- Your company name, contact details and accent colour
- Pausing the assistant, which takes your page offline the same day
The commitment. Configuration changes are made within 2 working days. A pause or cancellation is actioned within 1 working day. A copy of everything held for you is sent within 5 working days. Ask at adrians@stepedigital.com.
On request, and within the same 5 working days:
- A copy of your configuration exactly as it is stored
- A copy of any enquiry still inside the retention window
- Confirmation of what has been deleted and when
Are the questions mine, or generic ones?
Yours. The assistant works through an ordered set of questions held against your account, not a fixed script. It starts from the seven a cleaning quote usually depends on — premises, location, size, frequency, access times, what they have now, and anything unusual — and then it is yours to change: reword them, drop the ones that do not apply to your work, reorder them, or add your own.
The quickest way to add one is the “anything else” box on the setup form: any line you write there that ends in a question mark becomes a question the assistant asks. Write “Is there parking on site?” and every enquirer is asked it, with the answer arriving as its own field in your email. Anything else you write in that box stays a note to us.
One thing does not change, on any account: Linwick never quotes a price. It collects what a price depends on and hands it to you.
How does it go on my website?
One line of HTML, and you can hand it to whoever looks after your site without explaining anything:
<script src="https://www.linwick.co.uk/embed.js" data-linwick="your-slug" defer></script>That puts a button in the corner of your site which opens your enquiry page when someone clicks it. No rebuild, no new form for your customers to learn, nothing loaded until a visitor asks for it. The full instructions are on the install page.
If you would rather not touch your website at all, you do not have to. Your enquiry page is a normal link you can put in an email signature, a Google Business profile, a quote follow-up or a printed flyer, and it works exactly the same.
Do I need a developer?
Not to start. Your enquiry page is a link. Putting it in your email signature, on your Google Business profile or in a quote follow-up needs nobody technical and changes nothing about your website.
For the button in the corner of your own site, somebody has to paste one line of HTML before the closing body tag. If that is you, it is a two-minute job. If it is whoever looks after your site, forward them the install page — it is written for them, assumes they have never heard of Linwick, and says exactly what the script does and does not do to the page.
What I will not do is ask for a login to your website. I have no access to it, I do not want any, and no part of this needs it.
Does it work with Wix, Squarespace or WordPress?
Yes, on any of them that lets you add custom code. WordPress (theme footer, or any “custom HTML” plugin), Squarespace (Settings → Advanced → Code Injection → Footer), Wix (Settings → Custom Code → Body end), Shopify (theme.liquid), or Google Tag Manager as a custom HTML tag. The exact path for each is on the install page.
One caveat worth knowing before you look: code injection is not on every plan. Squarespace, for instance, does not offer it on its entry-level personal plan. If yours does not have it, nothing is lost — the hosted link works on every platform and every plan, with no code at all, and it is the same page the button opens.
What if it breaks?
Three different things could mean “breaks”, and they have different answers.
An enquiry that cannot be emailed to you. It is not lost, and it is not retried forever either. Delivery is attempted again a fixed number of times, and when those are used up the whole enquiry — the answers, the conversation, the contact details — is emailed to me with a header saying it failed, so a person can put it in front of you by hand. That escalation is in the code, not in a policy document. What you never get is silence: an enquiry either reaches you or reaches me.
The button not appearing on your site. A bad install renders nothing rather than leaving a dead button on your homepage, and logs one line naming the problem for whoever pasted it. Nothing else on your site is touched: the script adds a button and does not modify, move or restyle anything already there.
The service being down. Then the button does not open, and an enquiry somebody tries to make in that window is not captured. I will not dress that up: we offer no uptime guarantee and no service level agreement, and the terms say so. What limits it is that Linwick replaces nothing — your phone, your own contact form and your inbox all carry on working exactly as they did before you added it.
In every case the route is the same: Email goes to me, not to a queue. I answer within one working day. adrians@stepedigital.com.
What happens to a rubbish enquiry?
It reaches you like any other. Linwick does not score, rank, filter or bin anything — it asks your questions and hands over the answers, and what is worth quoting is your judgement, not a piece of software’s.
What changes is how fast you can tell. A one-off clean of a small office and a five-site contract arrive in the same shape, with the same fields filled in, so they stop looking identical in your inbox. Somebody who will not say what they want gets asked anyway, and an enquiry with the answers missing tells you something too.
Volume is capped rather than unlimited: your page has a daily ceiling on how many enquiries it will accept, so a bot cannot spend a night filling your inbox. If you ever hit it legitimately, email me and it goes up.
Who sees an enquiry apart from me?
Nobody, other than the systems that carry it: it is stored in an EU-region database and delivered by our email provider to the address you nominate. It is not shared with other customers, not sold, not used to train anything, and not passed to any third party beyond those named in our privacy notice.
The enquiries are your data, not ours. We handle them as your processor under a written agreement you accept at setup — you can read it in full at the data processing agreement before you buy.
What if I want to stop?
Email adrians@stepedigital.com and say so. It is monthly and rolling: no minimum term, no notice period, no cancellation fee. It is actioned within 1 working day and Linwick keeps running until the end of the month you have already paid for.
If Linwick is not live on your site, ask within 30 days of paying and the £149 setup fee comes back in full — no reason needed. That is the setup fee. The monthly fee is not refunded — it is monthly rolling instead, so you can stop at any time and it runs to the end of the month you have paid for. The full position is in the terms.
Why £149 and then £79 a month?
The £149 is a person doing the setup: reading your website, writing your questions in your words, configuring the page, and checking what the enquiry email actually looks like before you see it. It happens once.
The £79 is hosting it, delivering every enquiry, and every change you ask for afterwards — new questions, different wording, a different inbox — done by a person within 2 working days at no extra charge. There is no charge per enquiry and no charge for the enquiries Linwick handles, so a busy month costs exactly what a quiet one does.
What I will not tell you is what it earns you. That depends on how much traffic your website gets and what you charge, neither of which is mine to promise, and the terms say so plainly. Two things are in my gift instead. The first ten UK cleaning companies pay £149 to set up and £79 a month, and that price stays theirs for as long as their subscription runs without a break — it does not go up when the price for everyone else does. If Linwick is not live on your site, ask within 30 days of paying and the £149 setup fee comes back in full — no reason needed.
Why a Latvian company?
Because that is where I am. Stepe Digital SIA is registered in Latvia, registration number 40203711274, and you can look it up yourself on the Latvian Register of Enterprises. It is not a Companies House number and searching there will find nothing.
What follows from it, in practice: your contract is with a Latvian company under Latvian law (in the terms); prices are in pounds and subject to any applicable taxes; your enquiry data is stored in an EU region either way; and for data protection our supervisory authority is the Latvian State Data Inspectorate, while you keep the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office in the UK. Everything else — the writing, the support, the answering of this email address — is in English and comes from one person.
What happens if you stop trading?
This is a one-person company. There is no second member of staff, no investor and no source-code escrow arrangement, and pretending otherwise would be the sort of claim the rest of this page exists to avoid.
What that actually exposes you to is smaller than it sounds, and deliberately so:
- Nothing is locked in. It is monthly and rolling, so the most that is ever at risk is the month you have already paid for.
- Nothing of yours is held hostage. Every completed enquiry was emailed to your own inbox in full the moment it finished; those emails are your record, and we delete our copy long before you would delete yours.
- Nothing of yours depends on it structurally. It is one line of HTML and a link, not a rebuilt website. Deleting that line puts your site back exactly as it was.
- You would not find out by discovering a dead page. If I ever wind this down, customers hear it from me first and no further payment is taken.
The honest summary: the risk of buying from a new one-person company is real, and the answer to it is that this product is built so that leaving costs you a deleted line of HTML.
Still deciding? The demo is the product, running on a made-up cleaning company, with nothing to fill in. If you would rather see it on your own business, send me your website address and I will configure one and send you the link within 2 working days — no card, no obligation.
